Keep the Kief

Read Time:2 Minute, 18 Second

What is Kief and why should you even be bothered to keep it? I mean if it falls right off from the cannabis plant, so it can’t be that important right? Well, that’s where you’re wrong my friend.

Even though kief is the dried off bits, it’s formed from Trichomes. So the way that it works is that the Trichome will dry up and then break off from the cannabis plant, but is still very much usable! Kief, or dried trichome, is an extremely valuable part of the plant. It happens to be where you would find the THC, CBD and Terpenes which are responsible for the kind of high you have. Therein lies the reason as to why you should keep the kief and incorporate it into how you smoke your weed.

It’s so simple, once you have a flower, you already have kief. The easiest way to gather kief from the plant is by using a grinder. The grinder breaks down the flower and then catches all the Kief in the bottom chamber, hence the name. Then from there you can reuse all the small bits caught by the catcher and pack them into bowls or sprinkle them into your rolls. By using the kief this way, it can help make your experiences more sensational and elevating in all the best possible ways. Although the grinder may be the easiest way to collect kief; you always have the choice to just buy it from the dispensary or you can also use silk screens as another method to collect kief. You simply just rub the plant against the silk and the screen will collect the kief in large quantities.

Kief can also come in roughly about three different shades and each shade holds its own different meaning and value. Super pure kief will look similar to cinnamon in color. This light color will also mean that the kief is in its purest form and can offer a stronger effect. There is also white or blonde kief, which just means it has been cleaned to just be kief. Another color it can come in is more of a dark green. This just simply means that bits of the flower are mixed into it and it will still have the power to hit hard.

A lot of people recycle their kief back into their smoke and so should you, if you haven’t tried it yet! Kief is already there most of the time and is totally reusable and that is why you should always keep the keif!
