NBA’s Montrezl Harrell facing felony marijuana charges by The Associated Press

Montrezl Harrell, a famous basketball player currently playing for the Charlotte Hornets and has been in the NBA for about seven years, has just been charged with trafficking less than five pounds of marijuana. These are felony charges.
On May 12th, Harrell was pulled over by an officer in Richmond, Kentucky for tailgating. The officer smelled marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, and upon searching, the officer found three pounds of vacuum-sealed plastic bags filled with marijuana (Associated Press). They were in a backpack in the car’s backseat. Harell was arrested, and if convicted, could face up to five years in prison (Associated Press). His preliminary hearing is set for July 13th.
