L.A.’s Jungle Boys Bogus Raid.

Read Time:1 Minute, 6 Second

On the evening of Tuesday, Mar. 1, law enforcement conducted a surprise raid of Jungle Boys, one of Los Angeles’s most recognized dispensaries, over a fine discrepancy with the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDFTA).

Law enforcement enacted the multi-agency operation due to outstanding fees from earlier in the pandemic, when CDFTA offices remained closed, and marijuana dispensaries like Jungle Boys were prohibited from paying taxes in cash.

The unpaid sum, amounting to $66,000, is a small percentage of what Jungle Boys paid the CDFTA last year, which estimated approximately $18 million.

Though Jungle Boys had already appealed CDFTA’s late fees, and received a hearing date for the matter, law enforcement proceeded with the raid, collecting roughly $174,000 from the renowned dispensary – nearly triple the amount owed.

Well-respected in the cannabis community, Jungle Boys is a group of L.A.-based cultivators aiming to grow only the best marijuana since 2006. Prized for their ground-up journey to success and commitment to providing the public with unique and innovative strains, Jungle Boys has become a legend among dispensaries and attracted a cult-following of fans.
