Stricter Medical Marijuana laws coming to Colorado in 2022

By: Travyan Suttle
Beginning in 2022, Colorado will start the process of implementing stricter medical marijuana laws. Starting on Jan. 1, stricter rules for purchasing medical marijuana will begin after several months of deliberating these new state laws.
These new laws will largely limit the access to high-potency THC products to young adults.

One of the main deciding factors for the implementation of these stricter laws was the concern that parents shared about the potential dramatic effects that some marijuana products may have on kids if accidentally consumed.
Daily purchase limits of two ounces of flower and eight grams of concentrate for medical marijuana patients will be one of the new rules set to take into effect on Jan 1.

Exceptions to these new laws will apply only to patients whose doctors assert in writing that the individual has a physical or geographic hardship that should allow them to surpass the daily purchase limit.
