Could Nevada Cannabis Laws Help the Influence of Other States to Consider Possible Legalization?

Nevada is one of the 18 states in the United States that has cannabis fully legalized. Could states like Nevada influence other states who have yet to fully legalize cannabis to consider full legalization?

Cannabis is fully legal in Nevada, but the legalization still has its restrictions. According to the Cannabis Compliance Board of the state of Nevada, one has to be 21 or older and can possess up to one ounce of cannabis unless they are a licensed dealer. The restriction also includes that “You cannot use cannabis in any public place, you cannot use cannabis in a moving vehicle, even if you’re a passenger, and cannabis can only be consumed on private property (at home, for example), and as long as the property owner has not prohibited it” (Cannabis Compliance Board 2020).

So far, the legalization of cannabis has been effective with restrictions which can show other states that with legalization they can still hold power and control through instating restrictions such as the state of Nevada has done which is how they can be of benefit in being a positive example to other states considering possible legalization.
