Joe’s Big Comeback Special

Read Time:2 Minute, 35 Second

As many of you have probably seen already, President Biden has tweeted something in regards to his failed Marijuana reform and how he will be, “taking steps to end our failed approach.”

Biden’s campaign is now starting to notice that he is falling out of favor with almost everyone at this moment. There are many things Joe Biden promised to the American people that have gone on to be unchanged, leaving a wake of broken promises during his time in the office. One of those sad promises being, his marijuana reform!

Joe Biden campaigned heavily to the Democratic Party way back in the cursed year known as 2020. In his extremely liberal campaign, Biden had promised to work on legalizing marijuana at a federal level and helping those who have been incarcerated due to non-violent charges. Yet, nothing has changed and Biden has spent most of his presidential service being criticized for his shortcomings, leading to his most recent series of tweets, that I’m dubbing his Comeback Special! Do I mean this ironically? Possibly. Yet, I do have a sliver of hope left.

In his tweets, he lists out his 3 step, game plan in order to fix is marijuana reform promise.

His first step is to pardon those who have been charged with federal offenses due to cannabis possession. He claims that, “There are thousands of people who were previously convicted of simple possession.” Having been charged with cannabis possession at such a level, has caused many to be denied employment, housing and education opportunities. By giving pardon to these offenses, hopes to remove such burdens. Burdens, which so happen to be greatly affecting POC and low-income communities the most.

His second task is to get all governors to follow his lead, by also pardoning simple state possession charges. Saying that, “Just as no one should be in a federal prison solely for possessing marijuana, no one should be in a local jail or state prison for that reason, either.”

Finally his third goal will be to remove marijuana’s class. It is currently a Schedule 1 substance. Meaning that it is seen as a highly addictive drug and can be dangerously abused according to the Controlled Substance Act. By making it a Schedule 1 substance, it puts cannabis at the same level as heroin. To which Biden argues that it just, “Makes no sense.”

Our world has changed drastically within the last two years, especially in how we see our elected officials. At the start of his term, Biden was working hard on getting marijuana decriminalized by his MORE act. Which was designed to do everything his tweets said he would. It had success passing in the House and would just end up being thrown out or failed by the Senate each time. Causing many to lose faith in Biden and his ability as president.

Hopefully, these tweets represent Biden’s Comeback Era, in which he keeps all his promises and works to better these struggling communities during trying times.
