There Are Two Types of Gas at Circle K
There is big news out of Florida today! Circle K and Chicago-based cannabis company, Green Thumb Industries (GTI), have entered into an agreement allowing Circle K to sell Green Thumb cannabis products all over Florida. This is a huge deal mainly because cannabis is still not federally legal in Florida, even though many states are legally selling cannabis on a recreational and medicinal level.
Now in time, selling cannabis products is not a foreign concept in places like Florida. Products that contain Delta 8 and CBD are being sold all across the country right now. Companies are allowed to do this due to the fact that their products do not contain the psychoactive ingredient “THC” and the fact that it is also derived from hemp. This loophole has been used all over the country, and now the 2nd largest cannabis market in the US can make cannabis more easily accessible.
Circle K will have a separate section or even a separate store in certain cases to purchase cannabis called “Rise Express”. Currently, the convenience store chain does have experience in the cannabis sales business. A company in Canada has adapted this where cannabis is legal recreationally. Circle K stores all over Canada have partnered with local shop “Fire and Flower” to put locations right next to many Circle K locations.
There are still some rules unfortunately for the general public in Florida and tourists. The state of Florida has not yet fully legalized Cannabis for recreational use, but they have for medical use. Recreational users are out of luck for the moment, but that should change as laws are altered for the better in the future. With over 700,000 registered medicinal cannabis users, this new law will make it convenient for medical users to purchase cannabis while getting gas at certain locations, and get their favorite snacks on the go. Talk about convenience!
