Cannabis and the LGBTQ+ Community

Read Time:1 Minute, 6 Second

All around the country, pride celebrations are beginning, and a certain number of them are fusion celebrations between the LGBTQ+ community and cannabis. Many drag clubs and gar bars are hosting celebrations that serve THC beers and edibles. In Chicago, at Palmhouse, 619 Howard St., Higher Love is sponsoring an event that is hosted by Denali Foxx (they were on season 13 of Ru Paul’s Drag Race) where party-goers can smoke joints and share bongs while watching a drag show (Brown). Food and drinks are also available for purchase, both with or without THC.

This is one of many ways that cannabis brands and bars are showing solidarity with the community. Stone Road in Venice Beach will donate a portion of its proceeds from high-end joints or flowers to the LGBTQ Freedom Fund and PLUS of California is selling a rainbow-colored gummy that tastes like rainbow sherbet (Staggs).
